Freelancer.com Sucks

          Freelancer dot com kinda stinks. I've been on the site for years mostly as an affiliate, when I tried to withdraw my funds last month, they decided to close my account and keep my funds instead for an "affiliate violation" ??  Boooo.

Update 2013

Unfortunately Freelancer seems to have bought all competitors, so I guess you can still find good coders there but use with caution.  The site is actually great for BUYERS but pretty tough to find work these days.

P.S they finally reopened my account since they bought vworker too :).

Ok cool and thanks for the tip. As a first-time 'contractor' on fl.com, I hate it. The site is way too hard to figure out how to use. period.

Problem is they acquired the sl.com I feel bad towards Freelancer.com mainly due to them treating my money like as they were their (account suspensions), lack of privacy (for example they demanding my ID/mugshot to unfreeze my account) and TERRIBLE customer service (as their desk is in Philippines).

Yes their purchase of scriptlance was quite bad news to me mainly because by merging the sites, my SL account no longer works at all.

It's actually amazing how many of these sites you come across, and like a lot of people I to have had issues with Freelancer (namely their numerous and exorbitant fees) and I would never have joined if Scriptlance wasn't bought out by them.

If you guys are sick and tired of current outsourcing communities then get involved at the Kwikode.com forums to help build a marketplace that Freelancers and Employers actually want to use.

Well the worst has happened, vworker (sellout**) has now also been bought by Freelancer.com !!! Almost impossible to get online work now. Freelancer is just too big, bloated, competitive and still sucks, arghh.

Basically have to look for new sources of online money / work.

Freelancer.com has proven they are most unprofessional of all major outsourcing portals, so just avoid it - try oDesk and Elance. Cheers man!
