Getting Your baby Pictures online

If you don’t enjoy writing or blogging, baby pictures really CAN say a thousand words and they definitely provide the best way to keep memories of your precious baby.   Online photo albums provide a great way to stay in touch with loved ones, show pictures of your baby to people who live far away or to simply to keep an album for yourself.  Websites like Photobucket.com, Flickr.com, Rockyou.com, Slide.com and countless others provide many options to post and edit baby pictures and you can sometimes also upload videos too.

If, like many parents you enjoy taking pictures of your baby (and who doesn’t), online photo sites like Photobucket.com and Flickr.com are free, fun and easy to use and can save you the trouble of emailing large picture files over and over to friends and family.  Flickr and Photobucket both allow you to upload virtually unlimited photos and you can make the pictures public or private through the website settings.  Some extra features on Photobucket include video uploads and slideshows which you can then embed on your blog, website or on social networks.

If you don’t have a very fast internet connection and you’re using a digital camera with adjustable sizes you may want to adjust your settings to smaller image size like 0.1 mega pixels so you can easily upload your baby pictures.  With a fast internet connection, uploading only takes a few moments and you can upload dozens of baby photos in no time and then have fun editing and choosing the perfect frame and album type for your photos.  One advantage of online albums is that since they are free you don’t have to pay extra money to develop them, most of these sites do however allow you and your album visitors to order picture copies for about 20 cents each which is a pretty good deal.

Flashier sites like Slide.com and Rockyou.com allow you to make neat albums that rotate and have all sorts of pretty effects for your baby pictures.  Rockme.com albums especially, create 3D albums that are unique and fun to look at and Slide.com now allows video uploads too.  You can usually signup for free on these websites in a few seconds and start posting almost immediately and they are simplicity itself to use.  Your best bets right now are Rockyou, Slide.com and Photobucket.  Flickr.com does not seem to have as many features and does not add new ones like the others.

So, if you’re ready to get your baby pictures online and hopefully save yourself some time and money, just scan some pictures or connect your digital camera to the PC and try out a free online album service today.
